Each year I think the Women of the Year can't possibly find over 400 women to invite to this event and yet the list grows as more and more of us continue to make a difference in so many ways. I am constantly amazed that each year the calibre of the invitees gets stronger.

This truly is a wonderful organisation and I would like to welcome Gill Carrick who has taken over the role of Chairman this year. I would also like to express my thanks to the directors, committee, nominating council and the trustees of the Women of the Year Foundation for their invaluable help.

Let us continue to celebrate and be proud of our wonderful accomplishments and to take just one day every year to boast of our achievements and our acclaim as Women of the Year. I look forward to meeting the exceptional women of 2008."
