"In February 2008 I became the Chair of this organisation with which I am proud to have been associated for the past eight years. My initial interest was aroused by its founder, the inspirational Lady Lothian, who held the first event over fifty years ago. Since my involvement I have seen it grow in terms of influence and weight to what it is today. It has broadened its original activity from running an annual Lunch to celebrate the achievements of 500 extraordinary women, to initiating an Annual Lecture and setting up a Foundation for the purposes of giving women a fresh start.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to meet some of the most amazing women whose courage, selflessness and imagination has been a shining example to me and the rest of the world. I look forward to our next Lunch in October and the challenge that lies ahead for me as Chair working with our President, Joan Armatrading and our dedicated Council members and Administrator. I look forward to achieving many more new goals together in the future."
